Why Maxine Waters Wanted a Mistrial for Derek Chauvin

Harvey’s Introduction

I don’t know what Maxine Waters was thinking when she attempted to intimidate the jury in Minneapolis at the Dennis Chauvin trial or if she was simply bored and wanted to appear on TV, but she certainly helped the defense in its argument for a mistrial. If its granted, you can guess that we will see an outbreak of violence across the country, with the attendant rioting and looting. If he is not granted a retrial, you can be sure BLM will take it as a clear signal that jury intimidation is alive and well. To me BLM and its supporters are the mirror image of the KKK and their intimidation tactics.

About “Whataboutism”

Harvey’s Introduction

This is a fascinating read on the the subject of changing the subject. I enjoyed it immensely.

The False Narrative Underlying BLM – the Organization and the Movement

Harvey’s Introduction

I’ve posted a number of articles on the false narrative underlying BLM, the organization and blm, the movement. This one by the eminent scholar Shelby Steele is one of the best. It is must reading for people who think “institutional racism” accounts for the unequal outcomes among the races of people.

A University President Speaks Out

Harvey’s Introduction

So many college presidents have gone along with the new “woke” culture and allowed rioting and cancelling. This college president does not. A welcome read.

What Is At Stake In This Election

Harvey’s Introduction

One of the absolute best speeches I’ve ever heard. Klingenstein explains clearly the differences in beliefs about our nation on the part of the two parties and the implications of those differences on our future. Brilliant and absolutely clear.

Incredible Corporate Response to BLM

Harvey’s Introduction

This is an article that appeared in a well known corporate board journal by an attorney who has a very important position in an extremely large and successful law firm. It is purported to be a response to the claims that corporations are not doing enough to remedy the ills of capitalism as defied by groups like BLM. It is well written but is also almost complete and utter nonsense. For example, it urges that corporations encourage better educational outcomes in urban schools by supporting pre-kindergarten programs, enhanced meals, after school activities and adopt a school programs. It is not up to corporations to do these things. Inner city schools around the country are usually pretty bad, but not because there is a lack of these programs. They are bad because enough parents don’t care, because teacher unions prevent firing of incompetent teachers and a thorough lack of sufficient competition with public schools. If corporations supported anything, it should be the dismantling of unions, increased number of charter schools and the institution of voucher programs. The job of corporations is to maximize long term value for its shareholders and do so by providing goods and services that customers want, hiring and retaining a competent workforce and do so by operating in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Nothing else. Asking (requiring) corporations to be responsible for societal problems can only lead to greater government demands, oversight, regulations and fewer job and fewer successful companies.

The Democrat Party Riots

Harvey’s Introduction

Matthew Peterson puts the riots squarely on the Democrat Party.

The Racial Marxism of BLM

Harvey’s Introduction

Matthew Peterson traces the roots of BLM to the underlying theology of Marxism. Peterson argues that we don’t take Marxist philosophy seriously enough because there is little public support for direct in class warfare. But the BLM movement draws on the underlying Marxist philosophy; however instead of class, BLM relies on race and other intersectional “victims” of “white privilege”. Their aim is to completely recast American society and they are being funded by elite foundations and supported by academia and media.

Antifa/BLM Industrial Complex

Harvey’s Introduction

Alberto Fernandez likens the network of organizations that act as a supporting network for BLM and Antifa to what President Eisenhower defined as the “military/industrial complex. These enablers and support groups, he argues, are members who don’t fully appreciate their role in supporting these fully anti-American groups. Nor do they understand the objectives of these organizations and movements.. Fernandez identifies some enabling organizations and describes what he thinks ought to be done to weaken and then destroy their support.

Ending The BLM Movement

Harvey’s Introduction

This is an excellent article on BLM, its beliefs, its narratives, its lies. It lays out what we should do to counter this invidious organization and the movement it spawned. I was not familiar with Peterson’s work but was referred to it by Heather Mac Donald. Now that I’ve read this essay I will subscribe to the American Mind, a Claremont College magazine he is Editor. He publishes links to several other papers that deal with aspects of this issue. I urge you to click on them to get a better understanding of this organization and the movement it spawned.
